Loans are being waived off in these states
There are 10 states in the country that are leading in farmer loan waivers. These states and their loan waiver limits are as follows:
- Karnataka – Rs 2 lakh
- Uttar Pradesh – Rs 1 lakh
- Madhya Pradesh – Rs 2 lakh
- Maharashtra – Rs 1.5 lakh
- Rajasthan – 50 thousand rupees
- Telangana – Rs 1 lakh
- Punjab – Rs 2 lakh
- Chhattisgarh – Rs 1 lakh
- Tamil Nadu – Rs 1.5 lakh
- Jammu and Kashmir – Rs 1 lakh
Agricultural loan waiver schemes were implemented in these states between 2014 and 2018, which benefited crores of farmers. Let us tell you that currently in 2024, crop loans up to Rs 2 lakh of farmers are being waived in Jharkhand and Telangana.
Agricultural loans of these farmers will be waived off
If you are from Jharkhand state and you have taken short term crop loan which is given by commercial banks, scheduled cooperative banks, rural banks. Then there is a big update for you. Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren has decided to waive off loans of farmers of the state from Rs. 50000 to Rs. 200000. He has issued clear instructions to the officials in this regard so that the loan waiver process can be completed as soon as possible.
Eligibility for Agricultural Loan Waiver Scheme
- Under this scheme, both the farmers who cultivate on their own land and those who cultivate on others’ land can avail the benefit of the loan waiver scheme.
- The farmer doing agriculture should be a native of Jharkhand state and his age should be more than 18 years.
- The applying farmer should have a crop loan account.
- Farmers who have taken loan before 31st March 2020 can get their loan waived under this scheme.
- Only one farmer in a family will be eligible to avail the benefits of this scheme.

- Now the application form related to loan waiver will appear in front of you.
- Enter the required information in the application form and upload the required documents on the portal.
- After uploading complete information and documents, click on the submit option.
