PM Kusum Solar Subsidy Yojana 2024: PM Kusum Solar Subsidy Yojana is being run by the central government for farmers. Under this scheme, the government is providing subsidy to farmers for installing solar pumps in their fields. Under PM Kusum Yojana, 90% subsidy is being provided from 2 horsepower to 5 horsepower. Under this scheme, a target has been set to provide subsidy to more than 35 lakh farmers for installing solar pumps.

In the first phase of this scheme, 17.5 lakh pumps will be run by solar panels which were earlier running on diesel or petrol. All the farmers of the country who are running solar pumps on petrol or diesel can now run them with the help of solar energy. This will also give them relief in electricity bills. All the interested farmers who want to install solar pumps under this scheme will have to apply. The government has set some eligibility criteria for this scheme.

Purpose of PM Kusum Solar Subsidy Scheme

There are many states in India where there is drought and farmers have difficulty in keeping their farming safe. Keeping this problem in mind, the central government has started PM Kusum Solar Subsidy Scheme. The main objective of this scheme is to provide free electricity to the farmers of the country so that they can irrigate their fields and increase their income.

  • Solar pump distribution – In the first phase of Kusum Yojana, the Electricity Department in collaboration with the Central Government departments will do the successful distribution of solar energy pumps.
  • build a solar power plant: Solar energy factories will be built, which will have the capacity to produce sufficient amounts of electricity.
  • Installing a tube well – Tubewells will be installed by the government, which will produce a fixed amount of electricity.
  • Modernization of existing pumps – Old pumps will be replaced with new solar pumps.

Under this scheme, the applicant for solar power plant has to pay an application fee of Rs 5000 per megawatt plus GST. This payment will be made in the form of a demand draft in the name of the Managing Director of Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation. The application fees for applying from 0.5 MW to 2 MW are as follows:

How to apply for PM Kusum Solar Subsidy Scheme?

Here is the complete procedure to apply online for PM Kusum Yojana:

  • There, you have to select the option of Online Registration after going to the home page to select your state.
  • Once you reach there, the application form of PM Kusum Yojana will appear in front of you.
  • You will have to fill information like your name, address, Aadhar card number, mobile number, etc. in the form.
  • Then you have to upload all your required documents.
  • After filling the form completely, you have to submit it and print the registration receipt and keep it safe.
  • Your application will be verified and the land will be physically inspected.
  • After physical testing, you have to pay 10 percent of the total cost of installing the solar pump, and then the solar pump will be installed in your farm.
