Fast-bowling all-rounder Deepak Chahar and dynamic opener Ruturaj Gaikwad are among the Indian players who have touched down in Chennai ahead of the pre-season camp, slated to commence at the iconic M.A Chidambaram Stadium.

CSK, a powerhouse in IPL with five titles under their belt, took to their social media accounts to announce the arrival of Gaikwad, along with logistical manager Sanjay Natarajan, high-performance analyst Lakshmi Narayanan, team doctor Dr. Madhu Thottappillil, and masseur Khalil Khan.

The squad further strengthened with the arrival of Chahar, spinners Prashant Solanki and Nishant Sindhu, pacers Simarjeet Singh and Mukesh Choudhary, all-rounders Rajvardhan Hangargekar and Ajay Mandal. Also joining the camp are fielding coach Rajiv Kumar and team manager Russell Radhakrishnan.

Chahar, who has been away from competitive cricket since December last year due to personal reasons, is set to make a comeback. His absence was felt during India’s home T20I series against Australia and subsequent fixtures in South Africa. On the other hand, Gaikwad, who showcased his form in Maharashtra’s recent Ranji Trophy match, has recovered from a ring finger injury sustained during India’s ODI against South Africa.

However, the cricketing community is still awaiting the arrival of CSK skipper M.S Dhoni for the pre-season camp. Reports suggest that Dhoni, accompanied by his wife Sakshi, was recently seen in Jamnagar attending pre-wedding celebrations for Anant Ambani, the youngest son of Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani.

CSK’s campaign in IPL 2024 kicks off with a high-stakes clash against Royal Challengers Bangalore on March 22 in Chennai. The defending champions will then face off against the IPL 2022 winners, Gujarat Titans, at the same venue on March 26. As the countdown to the tournament begins, fans can’t wait to witness the thrilling action and see if CSK can continue their winning legacy.
