There is a great news for all the central employees which has brought a smile on everyone’s face. A big update has come for the government employees in which new figures and determinations of dearness allowance have been announced. From now on, dearness allowance will not be zero, which is a big relief for everyone. In this article, we will give you complete information about this new update, especially for those employees who are in government service.

7th Pay Commission Update 2024

A new update has come regarding dearness allowance for central and government employees. According to this, the detailed data of dearness allowance to be increased in the month of July is now available. This makes it clear that government employees are likely to get a significant and big increase in DA. In this regard, the Labor Bureau has released all the data which can prove helpful in determining dearness allowance. According to this, the Bureau has released the data for three months.

At present, there is a possibility of an immediate jump in DA which can be up to about 3%. However, this requires information about the first two months’ data and the actual determination after that. Currently, the level of dearness allowance is around 53%, so there is a possibility of a rapid increase in DA based on the data coming in the remaining two months.

AICPI Index

First of all, let us tell you that how much DA will increase is determined through the AICPI index. How much DA government employees will get in July will be determined based on the data from January to June of this year. The figures for January, February, March, and April have come, while the figures for May will be released by the end of June.

It is also important that currently employees are being given dearness allowance of up to 50% under the Seventh Pay Commission. If the dearness allowance increases in July, it will have a direct impact on the salary of central employees. In January, the AICPI index figures were at 138.9, due to which dearness allowance reached 50.84%.

Dearness Allowance will be increased to 53%

Regarding dearness allowance, many experts believe that there is a possibility of a 3% increase in DA. According to the AICPI index, dearness allowance has reached 52.43% till April. The figures for May and June are yet to come. If the AICPI index increases by 0.5 points in the month of June, then the DA dearness allowance can reach 52.91%. If the index reaches 143 points, then dearness allowance can increase by 4%. However, there is little possibility of a greater increase in the AICPI index, so the dearness allowance of central employees will be able to increase by a maximum of 3%.

Next revision in dearness allowance

The next revision in dearness allowance is likely to happen in the month of July, but it will be announced by September or October. The reason for this is that the data of the month of June will be analyzed by the end of July and on the basis of that it will be decided how much change will be there in dearness allowance. After the decision to increase dearness allowance, the relevant file will be sent by the Labor Bureau to the Finance Ministry. When the cabinet approval is received in the Finance Ministry, then it will be implemented, which may take some time.

However, it is clear that the approval for the increase in DA to be implemented from July till September or October will be given by the Cabinet. After this, DA will be paid to the central employees in the same month. Meanwhile, the payment for the intervening months will be made to all the employees through arrears.
