What is Lake Ladki Yojana?
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde launched Lake Ladki Yojana in the state in 2023. Under this scheme, every girl child in the state of Maharashtra will be able to get financial assistance in five separate installments from birth to the age of 18 years. While announcing the Maharashtra state budget in March 2023, Finance Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced the Pond Ladki Yojana.
Later, the scheme was implemented in the state by the Government of Maharashtra and the Department of Women and Child Development. The scheme was launched to increase the birth rate of girls in the state, prevent child marriage and take girls forward in the field of education.
Again, when a girl enters 11th standard she gets Rs. 8,000 and finally at the age of 18 Rs. 75,000 financial assistance can be availed. That means after birth till the age of 18, you can get a total financial assistance of Rs 1,01,000.
