On 16 September 2023, former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chauhan launched the Chief Minister Krishak Mitra Yojana. Under this scheme, the farmers of the state will be given benefits. The government helps them on the permanent pump connection they get. The government also provides the facility of 11KV power line along with transformer on pump connection of 3 horse power and above. The government also helps you up to 50% in the expenses incurred.

A total outline has been prepared for this scheme in two phases. In the first phase, the government will provide 10,000 pump connections to the farmers. After this, the farmers who are deprived of the benefits in the first phase will be given a chance in the second phase. Agricultural pump connections will be given under this scheme for the next 2 years. The best thing is that while taking advantage of this entire scheme, whatever the total cost is from installing the pump connection transformer to its maintenance, 50% will be borne by the government and the farmers will have to bear the remaining 50%.

The main objective of Krishak Mitra Yojana is to encourage farmers towards farming and provide them with a permanent electric pump connection for irrigation so that farmers suffering from drought do not suffer losses in their farming due to lack of water. Many farmers leave farming due to lack of irrigation facilities. The government is encouraging such farmers and providing them permanent pump connections of maximum capacity so that farming becomes very easy for them.

Under this scheme, the government gives subsidy of up to 50% to the farmers. Whatever expenses are incurred, the government divides them into three different parts. These three expenses are borne by the government and the electricity distribution company together. Whatever expenses are incurred, 50% of them will be borne by the farmer and the remaining 50% will be borne by the government and the electricity distribution company together. The 11kV line will be extended through cable up to a distance of 200 meters from where the electric pump connection will be installed.
