Canada Playing 11 vs USA- ICC T20 World Cup 2024, Match 1: Canada will take on the USA in the opening match of the T20 World Cup 2024 campaign on Sunday, June 2. Canada has been placed in Group A along with the USA, India, Pakistan and Ireland.
The T20 World Cup will begin on June 2 and will be played till June 29. The matches will be played at nine venues in the US and the Caribbean. The final will be played in Barbados.
Canada played in the T20 World Cup Qualifiers and managed to qualify for the tournament. Being an Associate nation, they do not play international cricket regularly. These ICC events are an opportunity for lower-ranked teams to showcase their potential on the big stage.
They played a practice match against Nepal on May 27 and dominated them. Batting at 183, they bowled out Nepal for just 120 runs and made the contest a one-sided affair. Canada will play another practice match against the Netherlands before taking on the USA in the first match of the campaign.

Pathan will play at number three. He was injured in the first practice match against Nepal and should play in the second practice match against USA. He has played 11 T20 matches and scored close to 500 runs.
Nicholas Kirton
Kirton will play at number four. He scored 52 runs in the match against Nepal and was the top scorer for Canada in that match.
Pargat Singh
Middle order batsman Pargat Singh will play at number five. He scored just 13 runs in the practice match against Nepal. He also bowls off-spin.
Shreyas Movva (wicketkeeper)
He is a wicketkeeper-batsman in the team. He has played only seven ODIs and five T20 matches for Canada and has not been able to perform well for the team so far.
Ravinderpal Singh
Singh is a great batsman who has played the role of finisher in the team. He scored an unbeaten 41 off 217 balls. He has batted so well that he should be sent up in the batting order.

Singh will play at number eight. He is a bowling all-rounder who is still trying to find his place in international cricket. The 23-year-old Singh has played just five international matches for Canada.

Off-spinner Nikhil is likely to play his first World Cup match for Canada XI against the USA. He has played 24 T20 matches, taking 24 wickets and seven ODIs, taking four wickets.
